Everyone at Newquay Hockey Club wants to wish a huge congratulations to our very own Kat Redd, who has been accepted onto the prestigious England Hockey Advanced Coaches Programme (ACP) - a significant milestone in an already successful coaching career.
The ACP is a high-level development programme aimed at experienced coaches working with performance-level athletes and teams. It combines practical learning, mentoring, and specialist workshops to deepen tactical understanding, refine coaching behaviours, and support reflective practice. The goal is to equip coaches to lead in high-performance environments, such as national leagues, talent pathways, and even international competition.
Over the years, Kat has guided teams through four promotions, secured a national title and runners-up medal, and claimed multiple regional and county honours. For the past seven years, she has also worked alongside Lauren Penny at the Hockey Performance Academy, delivering residential and online tactical sessions to masters players from all over the world.
A long-standing player and coach at Newquay Hockey Club for more than 15 years, Kat is passionate about grassroots development and excited to bring fresh insights and advanced coaching strategies back to the club as the ACP journey unfolds over the next two years.
Here's to continuous learning, pushing boundaries, and raising the game.
Amazing work Kat, we can't wait to hear how the course goes.
